Siawool

Composed of nylon fibers impregnated with abrasive particles, this innovative abrasive performs like steel wool, but won’t rust or leave steel fragments embedded in the wood. It doesn’t react with solvent or finishes, either, making it an excellent option for cleaning surfaces or smoothing between finish coats. Usable wet or dry, it can be formed into a batten of any size and readily conforms to workpiece contours.

The fine grade (approximately equivalent to 800 grit) contains silicon carbide abrasive, while the medium (approx. 320 grit) and coarse grade (approx. 180 grit) contain aluminum oxide abrasive. Sold in 75g (2.6 oz) packages.
