This multi-purpose scale is accurate to 1/10 of a gram (0.004 oz) in the 0 to 20g (0.70 oz) range and about 1/2 of 1 percent above that range up to 1kg (2.2 lb), which is the scale limit.
It can be used to measure precious metals, such as the pictured 9ct gold golf championship badge won by C. Arnott of the 5th Royal Scottish Fusiliers Golf Club in 1920, or for counting small items of all kinds by weighing a known number, entering the number and then weighing larger quantities in bulk. The scale will then register the total count of the larger quantity.
The scale reads in grams (gm), ounces (oz), carats (ct), pennyweights (dwt), taels (tl), grains (gn) and troy ounces (ozt). A useful scale to have in the current precious metals market. The scale cover doubles as a tray for holding items to be weighed. A sturdy, useful scale (measuring 2-1/2" x 4-1/4" x 5/8") that can be carried inside its protective pouch in your pocket or purse.
