This is the first functional carpenter's pencil sharpener we've seen.
The rectangular cross section of a carpenter's pencil makes it ideal for marking lumber, as the lead forms a knife edge that resists fracturing. Until now, that cross section had to be formed by whittling or sanding the pencil end.
This double-ended sharpener has a pair of blades on each end—one blade for each side of the pencil. A sliding guide holds the pencil in the correct orientation for each pair of blades. Best used by holding the sharpener flat on a surface, and sliding the pencil back and forth until done.
A simple and practical solution.
