While it is often difficult to find good-quality tools that are also appropriately scaled for children, these are well made for years of service. A child will surely outgrow these tools long before they wear out.
The 28" long digging spade and fork each feature a durable ash handle set in a deep socket for excellent strength. The fork has a stainless-steel four-tine head measuring 6 1/2" long, while the stainless-steel head on the spade measures 6 1/2" × 4 5/16".
A nice companion to the fork and spade, the flathead rake is 33 1/2" overall and has an ash handle. The 8 1/4" stainless-steel head has eight rounded tines that are suitable for cultivating soil and levelling off for final preparations.
Although these tools were developed with children in mind, they are a convenient size for anyone working in raised beds, or from a seated or kneeling position.
