Description

The design for this slanted pot scoop was based on a full-size scooped canoe paddle. The maker created a miniature version, adapting the design for his use in the kitchen.

The shape of the scoop is what makes it so effective – the sides are long and straight for scraping the sides of a pot (or can), and the sloped, radiused edge lets you reach into corners. Though shallow, the scoop collects and mixes foods very well, and we found it a good choice for mixing wet and dry ingredients together for baking.

The handle is oval and thick in cross section and tapers from the scoop, making it easy to grip and control. Available in right- and left-hand models, approximately 12" long overall with a 4 1/2" scoop.

Made from hard maple by a small family-run business in Québec, and finished with food-grade mineral oil and beeswax, the scoop will last a lifetime if used with reasonable care. Hand wash only.

As with any item made from natural materials, minor variations in size, appearance and other characteristics are to be expected.
