Modul Hinge
This is the hinge that has long been the anchor of the Blum line. A single screw secures the hinge arm to the mounting plate, as well as controls door depth adjustment. The hinge is adjustable in three dimensions, and is a good choice for applications where you will not be removing the doors, or want to prevent doors from being removed without tools (e.g., public places or children's furniture).

Clip Hinge
This is the first generation of clip hinge. It allows doors to be removed without tools, and without loss of adjusted positions. It has been replaced by the clip-top hinge in all but a few specialty applications.

Clip-Top Hinge
This is the second generation of clip hinge. It allows doors to be removed without tools, and without loss of adjusted positions. The new standard in fully adjustable and easily removable hinges, it is the best choice for general applications.

These Blum hinges have many advantages:

1. They are completely hidden when the door is closed.

2. They are spring loaded with two rest positions; fully open or fully closed.

3. They install quickly and easily.

4. They can be adjusted in all 3 dimensions (horizontal, vertical and depth) after installation.

5. They generally require no face frame, and mount directly to the carcass side. Hinges for face-frame applications are available.

The hinges are all nickel plated for a clean, rust-proof finish. The hinge cups are all metal, not plastic. All come with mounting instructions, screws and bumpers.

Whether you choose a hinge to give you an inset door or one with an overlay is a matter of cabinet design. If you choose an overlay design, you would usually use a full-overlay door on the ends and half-overlay doors in the middle row of cabinets.

Concealed hinges are best mounted using a 35mm flat-bottomed boring bit.
