The Complete Guide to Making Wooden Clocks - Woodworking
by John A. Nelson

As both a collector and a maker of clocks, Nelson is well qualified to cover the subject of American-made clocks. He gives a good short history of the styles and the makers from the late 18th century to the present, with beautiful color photographs of the classic types.

A sequence of 22 photographs showing the construction steps for a coffin clock will serve as a model for the general construction procedure for others. Detailed plans are given for 37 clock projects, all illustrated with color photographs and dimensioned drawings. They include wall clocks, shelf clocks, desk clocks, regulators, schoolhouse clocks, one tall grandfather clock and a great variety of others in both modern and traditional styles. Sources for kits and movements are given in an appendix.

Second edition, softcover, 8-1/2" x 11", 182 pages, 2003.
