The online clearance event has ended.
Our original tenon cutters introduced in 1997 (they may almost qualify as antiques). Equivalent sizes of our current aluminum-body tenon cutters sell for $87 to $94.
This tenon cutter functions much like a hollow auger, a tool that was popular a century ago. It cuts a perfect tenon with a radiused shoulder, exactly what you want if you are making twig furniture. The cutter is used with a two- or four-jaw brace, which not only gives you good control, but is excellent for general alignment. It takes very little practice before you can cut a perfect tenon every time.
The hardwood head doubles as a sharpening jig, grooved to hold the cutter at the perfect angle for sharpening on a 1-1/2" drum sander in a drill press.
Available in three diameters: 5/8", 3/4", and 1". Cuts tenons up to 2-3/4" long. High-carbon steel blade with a screw advance.
For use with a power drill (at 200 rpm or less), a hex-shank bracket is available. You need only remove four screws to switch from a tapered square to a 3/8" hex shank or vice versa.
These products are not stocked at our retail stores, but can be ordered for pick-up at our stores.
