One of the recent innovations in weight scales is the ability to produce very accurate but compact digital models like this one. We see it as ideal for cooks (since it will weigh anything from 0 to 500 grams or 0 to 17.6 ounces to one decimal place).
It is also popular as a pocket scale for antique dealers, since it will read in troy ounces as well as grams and Imperial ounces, a nice feature if you buy jewellery. (In fact, it will read in pennyweights as well, a measure still used in Britain.)
The best feature for cooks is the ability to set it for tare weights, eliminating the container weight from the measurement. At 3" x 4" and 3/4" thick, the scale takes up little space in a kitchen drawer.
