These are triple-threat earwig traps. They are compact, effective, and inexpensive. With just three traps in place, 60 earwigs were caught in one day.
Earwigs are the lemmings of the insect world. Given a trap like this with effective bait, they will practically crawl over each other to dispose of themselves.
One effective method is to half fill the trap with water, add a tablespoon of vegetable oil, a few drops of dish soap to reduce the surface tension and a small piece of fruit or a few drops of fish oil for a "come hither" odor. Replace the top of the trap and set it any place that is frequented by earwigs. The earwigs will crawl into the holes in the top of the trap and drown in the mixture.
Traps should be checked regularly to clear them of earwigs and top up the liquid as required. 3" in diameter by 1" high and made from plastic.
It is just that simple to bring earwigs under control. The traps are harmless to pets and children.
