Make a Pair of Traditional Japanese Sawhorses
Friday, June 22, 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Japanese woodworkers use a range of sizes and types of sawhorses. With David Shackleton, you will build a compact pair of low sawhorses that can be used either on the workshop floor or on top of your existing workbench. Surprisingly useful around the shop, they take up little room and are easy to transport and store. While building them, you will learn Japanese woodworking techniques that you can use to build other sizes of sawhorses using the same design principles. All tools and materials provided.
Fee: $50.00

One of the best decisions David Shackleton feels he ever made was dropping a high-school Latin class for woodworking shop. In that class, David learned basic cabinetry using only hand tools. He continues working wood to this day, branching out into woodturning, woodcarving and light construction projects. David began using Japanese woodworking tools in a modest way decades ago. Now retired, he has had the time to spend improving his skills. He wishes to share his experiences and expertise using these special tools.
