Turn a Figured Maple Bowl

Friday, March 15, 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

This session will cover lathe features, safety and function, tool selection and use, choice and orientation of the wood blank, and different methods of mounting the blank to the lathe. You will turn your own highly figured maple bowl. The session will close with a discussion about sanding and finishing, to be completed at home. All tools and materials provided. |

Andrew Garay has been carving story sticks that incorporate adventures and stories about himself and his family since the 1970s, and used these sticks for hiking and photography all across Canada. He is also an accomplished carpenter who has built several off-the-grid log cabins on his northern property. He formerly taught mathematics and science for 20 years, as well as having experience designing and leading workshops on leadership, conflict resolution and human rights. |

Unless otherwise stated, previous experience is not required to participate in seminars and attendees should be 16 years old or older.
Seminar tickets are not available online.
Beverages are provided at our seminars and a light
sandwich lunch is provided at all-day events.

your own coffee mug and/or refillable water bottle.
We require that you wear closed shoes
