Work-Holding for Your Workbench
Saturday, July 13, 9:30 a.m to 4:30 p.m.

A workbench without a vise is considered incomplete, while a bench vise alone is often inadequate for the work of a typical woodworker. Learning how to hold your work properly on the bench will improve your techniques as well as the end product. This workshop will share different work-holding methods, including many little-known tricks and solutions. The emphasis will be on making and using your own jigs or devices to solve your work-holding challenges, such as large workpieces or odd-shaped objects. You will make some work-holding jigs to bring home and be given information on how to make others in your shop. Those with some hand-tool experience will benefit most from the workshop. All tools and materials provided.
Fee: $90.00

James Warburton has been woodworking since the 1970s. His main interests over the years have been Shaker-style furniture and early Canadian reproductions and he taught woodworking and design at the high school level. He also had a table at the antique Tools of the Trades Show for many years.
