Make a Longboard (Ages 12 and Up)
Saturday, July 20, 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

This is a great introduction to woodworking for youth. Starting with an uncut blank, you’ll draw your skateboard or longboard shape and cut it out with a bandsaw. (No experience necessary. We will teach you safe tool usage.) You’ll then sand it down and drill the holes. In the afternoon you’ll use spray paint, sharpies and stencils to customize the bottom of your new board. You are welcome to bring a friend or guardian to help build your board at no extra cost. Because of the wide range in trucks, wheels, bearings and hardware, these components are not provided. We recommend picking some up from your local skateboard shop before the workshop. We will demonstrate how to affix the hardware so you can do this at home. All other tools and materials provided.
Fee: $150.00
