Intermediate Pyrography
Adding Color
Saturday, October 21, 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Pyrography is essentially the burning of designs into wood. Once called pokerwork, it was done with pointed irons heated in a charcoal brazier. With modern electrical equipment, astonishingly intricate and beautiful designs and pictures can be made. Using a burner and assorted hand pieces, Victoria McIntosh will take you beyond the basic techniques, and reveal how to obtain the illusion of texture and how to add color. Those with some experience in pyrography will get the most out of this workshop. Please bring a burner and tips if you own them. All materials will be provided as well as burners and tips for those who are not able to bring their own.
Fee: $75.00

Victoria Elaine McIntosh was born in St. Boniface and grew up on the Sagkeeng First Nation in Manitoba. Her passion has always been artwork, and creativity. While Victoria has worked with different media, pyrography has been one of her favorite. Her pyrography uses color to enhance the natural patterns of the surface. Victoria has also worked in various school divisions across Canada teaching her craft. She presently works at St. James School Division, and currently attending The University of Manitoba to obtain her Bachelors and Masters in Education, as she wants to become a high school art teacher.
