Intermediate Carving
a Wooden Bowl
Thursday, February 22, 9:15 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
or  Saturday, April 14, 9:15 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.

Learn the skill of deep-hollow carving as you create your own small bowl from a solid piece of hardwood. Grant McMillan will teach you how the tools work and how to create sweeping cuts, sand the piece to a glassy smoothness, and prepare it for a finish coat. Skills learned in this workshop will be invaluable in carving bowls, spoons, dishes, eye sockets and other concave shapes. Participation in our Fundamentals of Carving seminar or some carving experience is a prerequisite for this course. All tools and materials provided.
Fee: $90.00

Grant McMillan is a professional woodcarver from Langley, BC, who has been carving since 1995. His carvings are in private collections across North America, New Zealand and South Africa. He is a member of the Central Fraser Valley Woodcarvers Club in Abbotsford.
