Make a Medieval-Style Yew Bow
       Friday, April 6, 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
and Saturday, April 7, 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Ryan Gauthier will take you through the process of making a traditional medieval-style longbow using traditional tools. You will shape a seasoned stave of yew wood, and learn the art of teaching it to bend. You will discover the properties of yew wood that make it exceptional for bows, and why it's been used for centuries around the world. You'll make your string using a Flemish twist. All tools and materials provided.
Fee: $330.00

Ryan Gauthier has been building bows and arrows using self-harvested local woods since 2012. He is passionate about reviving this ancient skill and art form and keeping it alive. A winner of multiple Bow of the Month awards as well as Bow of the Year 2016 in Primitive Archer magazine, Ryan has built many different styles of bows, including heavy English war bows, American-style flat bows, horn bows and sinew-backed bows.
