The box was inspired by a description that Chris Schwarz posted on his Lost Art Press blog earlier this year of a Japanese tool chest that he had come across:

I modified the dimensions so that the Allit bins sold by Lee Valley (product #27K80.11+) would fit neatly inside, as shown in the second photo.

The box is primarily quartersawn yellow cedar, except for the bottom, which is quartersawn white oak. The box is assembled using various sizes and styles of Tremont cut nails. The overall dimensions are: 4-7/8" (H) x 9-7/8" (W) x 20-1/2" (D).
