Cups, Discs and Washers for Rare-Earth Magnets

A. These cups are counterbored to fit the rare-earth magnets we sell. The cup for the 1/4" magnet has a ridged outer surface for a press fit into a 3/8" x 1/4" deep hole. The larger cups can be screwed directly to the face of the workpiece or flush mounted in a counterbored hole. The 1/2" and 5/8" cups are 1/4" thick and countersunk for a #4 flat-head screw; the 7/8" and 1-1/8" cups are 9/32" thick and countersunk for a #10 screw (to restrain the larger magnets' greater attraction). Sizes stated below are the outside diameter (O.D.) and the counterbore size to fit our rare-earth magnets (sold separately). Zinc-plated steel. Sold individually. Made in Canada.

B. This soft acrylic material was initially developed as a non-skid buffer between smooth surfaces (e.g., glass to glass, metal to metal). In our tests, the discs proved to be well suited as high-friction backings for our magnet cups and washers. Cut slightly undersize (0.025") to the outside dimensions of our magnet cups and washers, the non-marring material (1/64" thick) has a high-tack adhesive backing capable of withstanding high shear loads, even at elevated temperatures (to 140°F). C. The three smaller washer sizes are 3/32" thick and have a 1/8" dia. hole countersunk for a #4 screw, while the two larger sizes are 5/32" thick and countersunk for a #10 screw. The outside diameters (O.D.) are slightly undersize and match their respective cup, so that the same size of drill bit can be used for counterboring both when you want them flush mounted.
