This is one of a suite of excellent furniture plans, covering many popular designs by leading American craftsmen. Each 36" x 48" plan is complemented with a detailed and well-written instruction book that contains a bill of materials, a cutting list, jig and fixture plans (where necessary), alternative construction notes and suggested finishing techniques.
This chest with pinned lap joints is an easy construction project. The plans detail the cover for the lock, which is made of 1/16" steel. This is easily cut with a saber saw with a steel cutting blade. The chest can be lined with cedar planking, available at most home centers. 18" high by 44" wide and 19" deep.
