The "Stonebridge" Automatic Folding Lantern
A faithful reproduction of an antique original, this collapsible lantern
was used by American servicemen during the First World War.
First patented in 1900 by Charles Stonebridge, it was the first candle
lantern to feature a hinged-partition design with an integrated chimney
and candle socket. Made largely from brass with mica panels, the lantern
has air intake holes along the bottom of the front and side panels and
a large chimney vent in the peaked roof. Even if you are walking with
the lantern, the candle will burn without flickering. A hole on the rear
of the unit allows the lantern to be hung on a nail.
Measures just 6-1/4" x 4-1/2" x 3/4" when closed,

and weighs just 12 ounces. Best used with dripless candles (not included). |
