Not only is the hoe only 3" wide, but the loop design lets you see where the complete hoe blade is at all times, avoiding accidents that slice plants other than weeds.

The thin, spring steel loop slides through the soil with minimal resistance and stays sharp both because of hardness and its thin cross section.

Designed to be used in a near vertical position (like a collinear hoe) it is very easy on the back, letting you use a motion much like sweeping.
