Rolling Composter

This must be the easiest way to make compost and collect compost tea at the same time. Just fill the rolling barrel with kitchen scraps, grass clippings and garden waste, give it a spin every few days, and high-quality compost will be produced in as little as 4 weeks. Compost is created quickly because the mix is highly aerated. A hatch on the side opens to add scraps and remove finished compost.

Made from UV-stabilized recycled plastic, the drum sits on a base with built-in wheels to aid in rolling the drum. It is easier and more effective to tumble the compost when the barrel is not completely filled, so finished compost should be removed periodically. You can also set the base to collect (or not collect) the compost tea that drains from the barrel. For easy access to the tea spout, place the composter on a stable, raised platform. Compost tea is an excellent fertilizer and has been shown to discourage some pests and diseases.

The barrel measures 26" x 20" and holds 6 cubic feet of material.
