Melody Harp

Many children become easily frustrated in the beginning stages of learning a new instrument. Not so with this lap harp. There are no complex chord patterns to memorize, and included sheet music slides underneath the instrument strings to guide a player easily through each song. Children and adults alike can follow a tune immediately, eventually playing it intuitively.

This style of harp is a form of zither, a musical instrument that dates back to 2000 BC. The zither eventually became a common folk instrument in Eastern Europe, where parents began sliding handwritten music under the strings to help teach their children.

A tuner, pick, and the music sheets of 12 songs (with lyrics) are included. Available separately are a soft carrying case and a package of 24 songs, an equal mix of folk, children's and Christmas songs.

This is a well-finished, rich-sounding instrument that is a pleasure to play and listen to. Although each is hand tuned by the manufacturer, after shipping a slight re-tuning may be required.
