Daffodil (Narcissus)
Cheerful
daffodils are some of the first flowers to bloom, signaling
the beginning of the growing seasona delightful sight
to any gardener!
Plant
daffodil bulbs from September through November in moist,
well-drained soil that's neutral to mildly acidic (pH
6.5). Before planting, place bone meal or slow-release
bulb fertilizer in the hole and lightly mix with the
soil. As a general guide, plant these large bulbs 6"
deep and 6" apart, ensuring the pointed part faces
up toward the sky and the flat part faces down. An area
with full sun or light shade is preferable.
