Dear Lee Valley,
I thought you'd like to see a few of my (many) pictures of my
urban garden. I am growing about 12 varieties of heirloom tomatoes,
plus eggplants, peppers, zucchini, French beans, herbs and flowers
in a very compact space formerly occupied by a small front lawn.
The yields this year are the best yet, which I attribute to
the biodegradable weed barrier, purchased from Lee Valley.

The
tomato, which is pictured, is almost as large as a dinner
plate. Although I haven't picked it yet, I estimate it
weighs between 1 kg and 1.5 kg (2.2 lb and 3.3 lb). The
yield this year is probably over 1,000 tomatoes. The zucchini
have weighed over 5 kg (11 lb) each.
