The fussiest part of the entire process is boring
the hole for the key ring. Ensure the work is held firmly,
and that any padding is well clear and won't get dangerously
caught up. Take your time lining up the bit, so that it
bores right through the meat of the handle. When working
with an object of this size, it's not a disaster if something
goes wrongsimply make another one. |

To finish, I cut off the excess ends with a fine backsaw,
then pare and sand flush. I apply a little more polish
to complete. If you are planning on making a lot of these,
you might want to use powered means, such as a belt or
disc sander, for cleaning up the ends. If so, take care
with these small pieces. Better to take a little longer
on the task than say goodbye to your fingertips!
