Careful inspection of the item shows no manufacturer's mark. The maker obviously constructed it to be used as a teaching aid. It most likely would have been employed to demonstrate the correct manner in which to use and read a micrometer. Perhaps it was made during the time when Canada switched from using the imperial system of measurement to the metric system, or before today's widespread use of digital displays.
