At this point, the bed frame was installed into the carcass
and the backrest was assembled to the bed. The plan recommends
laying the carcass on the floor and trying to position and
align the cabinet face with the case on the floor. I found
it easier to use a web clamp and a couple of shims at the
bottom to hold the cabinet face in the correct location of
the bed frame. Standing behind the bed case, I drilled and
screwed the frame and cabinet face together. I then removed
the frame again, positioned the carcass in place in the bedroom
and attached it to the wall with three #12 4" screws
mounted directly in wall studs along with two nylon bookcase
straps.
The end result was a space-saving, knockdown, frame-and-panel,
solid cherry Murphy bed and a happy young daughter who brags
that she gets to sleeps in a box!
