Description
These hardwood planes can be pushed or pulled. When pulled, the bevelled and curved upper front surface seats comfortably in the heel of your hand. When pushed, it is an equally comfortable configuration for applying downward pressure.
All four sizes have solid high-speed steel blades, held by steel wedges. Though not directly comparable to Western plane designations, they cover the range from a block plane to a jack. Each has the iron bedded at about 45°, and a mouth opening of about 0.5mm (0.020" to 0.025"). In testing, we were easily able to produce shavings less than 0.002" thick.
