These are well-made, reliable tuners. With carefully machined components to minimize play, they have a smooth, positive operation with no lost motion. The tight tolerances also help reduce wear, ensuring long life. Made in Japan.
The classical tuners have engraved plates of brass in a matte finish and knobs made of ivoroid, a plastic resembling ivory. The gears are machined with concave teeth for a close fit with the helical screws, and have a 1:14 ratio to permit fine adjustment. Made of durable nylon, the string rollers are 10mm in diameter, spaced on 35mm centers. Supplied as a set of two plates, left and right. Mounting screws included.
With a streamlined, modern appearance, the Gotoh 510 steel string tuners are favoured by makers of high-end guitars. Their high gear ratio (1:21) allows exceptionally precise adjustment, and the mechanism is sealed for durability. They install in 10mm post holes. Available in two finishes, polished chrome and polished gold, both with black plastic knobs. Supplied as a set of six machines, three left and three right.
