Ensuring houseplants are properly hydrated is essential to maintaining their health, but determining a plant's true watering requirements isn't easy. This simple soil-moisture monitor lets you know when plants need water and, just as important, when they don't.
Effective with plant types from desert to tropical, it can be used for instant-read testing on plants all around the house, or for constant monitoring of a single plant. In the instant-read mode, four color-coded LED lights indicate if soil moisture is too high (blue), ideal (green), low (yellow) or dangerously dry (red). Left in the soil, it monitors constantly, alerting you when the plant needs water by subtly blinking either yellow or red, depending on urgency.
The small one is for pots up to 10" in diameter; the extra-large is for pots over 10". Each runs on two included button-cell batteries.
