Sharpen Your Kitchen Knives
Sunday, April 14, 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Are you frustrated with a knife that squashes rather than cuts a tomato, or one that makes a carefully prepared steak seem like a piece of shoe leather? A dull knife can be dangerous. This session will focus on how to create and keep a keen edge on these essential kitchen tools. This workshop will cover the basic sharpening method and then provide you with guidance and tips as you sharpen your own knife. You'll see just how satisfying it can be to have a sharp kitchen knife. Please bring your favorite dull knife from your kitchen to work on. All sharpening materials provided.
Fee: $35.00

Derek Darling's career path has involved retail, information technologies and related fields, but his passion has always been in his woodworking shop. He has focused on carving, turning, and finding and restoring old tools, although recently he has discovered the joy of making hand tools. Derek believes that his well-tuned and sharpened hand tools give him more satisfying results than power tools. Derek is an employee of Lee Valley Tools.
