Beginner Woodturning for Women
       Monday, February 11, 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
and Tuesday, February 12, 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
or
       Thursday, March 28, 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
and Friday, March 29, 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
 
Why let the men have all the fun? In this women-only workshop, you will learn the basic skills needed to turn wood. Lathe and turning terminology, safety concerns, how to properly set up a lathe and sharpening station, turning tools, accessory tools, sharpening and wood considerations will be covered and demonstrated. You will have the opportunity to try the various cuts as you turn a few projects. You will also go home with a copy of the book Getting Started in Woodturning. All tools and materials provided.

Claudia Hayward has been selling her simple and functional work at major craft shows throughout Western Canada for many years. This professional woodworker loves to spend time turning salad bowls at her lathe.

Unless otherwise stated, previous experience is not required to participate
in seminars and attendees should be 16 years old or older.
Seminar tickets are not available online.
Beverages are provided at our seminars and a light
sandwich lunch is provided at all-day events.
Please discuss any special dietary needs
with the staff at time of registration.
In an effort to reduce waste, we encourage you to bring in
your own coffee mug and/or refillable water bottle.
We require that you wear closed shoes
(e.g. running shoes) to all seminars.
