Make an Electric Cigar Box Guitar
       Friday, April 12, 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

and Friday, April 26, 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
and Saturday, April 27, 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
 
More than just a toy, this cigar box guitar is a four-stringed fretted instrument that creates an amazing sound. You will choose from a wide variety of cigar boxes and other found materials to make your own unique instrument. This workshop will help you install a pick-up (supplied) so that the guitar can be plugged into an amp for even better sound After you've completed constructing and discussed adding a finish to your guitar, you will be taught how to string it, how to tune it using different methods and how play simple chords on it. You will be shown different styles of play as you learn a three-chord song. All tools and materials provided.

George McLeod is a retired Chartered Accountant with a lifelong passion for woodworking, artistry and music. George has built everything from houses to snooker tables, cedar chests, skim boards, barrel cabinets, jewelry boxes and now cigar box guitars. George has played guitar since the 1990s and has recently designed and crafted ten very unique cigar box gittys. One of these gittys is a dual neck double body tenor/bass and another is played by recording artist Andy Squint. Pictures of George’s craftsmanship can be viewed at www.cigarboxnation.com. George is an employee of Lee Valley Tools.

in seminars and attendees should be 16 years old or older.
Seminar tickets are not available online.
Beverages are provided at our seminars and a light
