Reprinted in 1999, these four books were originally published by Popular Mechanics Co. between 1913 and 1925. They have a total of 3849 articles and 3917 illustrations for thousands of projects using new or recycled materials.
Some projects include procedures and materials that would not be used today. However, the vast majority involve straightforward woodworking and basic metalworking skills, both subjects that were regularly taught in schools of the day. There is a wide range of creative material for children to master these basic skills in an interesting and constructive way, but the projects are of interest to all ages – ranging from a simple knitting spool (made from shingle nails and a thread spool) to ice boats and snow machines.
Made from acid-free paper with a sewn binding in a sturdy linen hardcover. Each book is 6" x 9-3/4" with 460 pages. Part of our Classic Reprint Series.
Any of these remaining issues will add a wealth of practical and historical insight to your library.
The list price was $21.95 each.
