Moving Fillister and Dovetail Planes

Moving Fillister and Dovetail Planes - Woodworking
Accurate and efficient, these planes have changed little through the centuries. Guided by integral fences, they have wedged high-carbon steel blades (hardened to Rc58) that are quickly and easily adjusted.

The moving fillister is equipped with a depth stop and produces rabbets up to 1-1/4" wide by 7/8" deep for a multitude of uses, such as frame-and-panel work, furniture carcasses, breadboard cleats, or boatbuilding. Similar to the fillister but with a sole sloped 10°, the sliding dovetail plane cuts a tail up to 1-1/4" long with a maximum shoulder depth of 7/8". It lacks a depth stop, but this allows you to fine-tune the fit for a hand-cut socket.

Both planes have European beech bodies with durable hornbeam soles, and scoring spurs to reduce tear-out on cross-grain work. Overall length is 9-1/2".

Made in Germany by E.C. Emmerich to its usual high standards.
