A. Making a Peppermill – DVD
Professional turner Ted Soklowski guides you through the complete process of making a pepper mill and matching salt shaker. He demonstrates how to combine design concepts, such as visual weight and fair curves, with the grain pattern of the material, and shows how to minimize bit wandering when boring the blank, make a jam chuck, and re-center accurately. Extras include a scale drawing of a pepper mill mechanism, and a Microsoft Excel® template that calculates precise drilling depths.

B. Pepper Mill & Salt Shaker Kit with DVD
This kit includes the DVD Making a Peppermill (above), a tempered stainless-steel mechanism for making an 8" top-load, adjustable-grind pepper mill, a salt stop and plug for making a matching shaker, and two claro walnut blanks. The rough-sawn blanks are 10" long, 2-1/2" wide, and 2-1/2" thick (nominally) with wax-dipped ends.
