In the author's mind the reasons for buying this book were vague at best. He suggests both dismembering it to frame the silhouettes and alternatively using the silhouettes on lampshades. Since it was probably a labor of love for him, he felt obligated to find utilitarian features to encourage others to buy it. He overlooked the most significant reason for buying it, which is the information it contains and the pleasure it will bring a reader to be able to recognize vessel types and marvel at the range. It is for lovers of the sea and ships.
