Vintage Fixed-Pin Welding Butt Hinges

These hinges are part of a special purchase of 1930s hardware. Until we bought this hardware, it had been stored in a New York warehouse where it had been shipped from Sweden just before the Second World War. It is well made, though there may be some minor surface rust that can be removed.

Made in Japan, these vintage hinges are made of unfinished steel. They are undrilled as they are commonly welded to other steel or iron components, such as in metal toolboxes. Alternatively, they can be readily drilled for standard use with screws. Hinges measure 2" × 1 5/8". Metal is 0.065" thick.
