DVR Motor for Rikon 14" Bandsaw

With the digital controller built into this motor, you can set the speed of the saw blade to handle different materials, ensuring a good finish and easier cutting. The variable 1 3/4 hp motor can be set to any speed between 100 rpm (45 '/min) and 2375 rpm (4400 '/min), with 15 suggested speed settings for wood, metal and plastic, plus a custom range you can specify yourself. A built-in screen lets you quickly pick the setting you need.

What makes this possible is the digitally controlled variable reluctance – the first time this technology has been applied to a bandsaw motor. Similar to resistance in an electrical circuit, magnetic reluctance can be used to precisely control the pull of the magnets in an electric motor.

The controller constantly tracks the rotation and speed of the motor spindle to deliver continuous torque for consistent cutting, with spike detection and fast electronic braking for safer use. As added benefits, the DVR motor produces less noise and vibration and is more energy efficient than conventional bandsaw motors. Operates on 110V or 220V.

We offer the Rikon 14" deluxe bandsaw (model 10-326) together with a DVR motor at the price you would normally pay for a saw with a DVR motor installed. While this means you will need to install the DVR motor, it also means you effectively get the original motor for free.
