Instructor Bio

Paul Collard began turning wood as a teenager after his father brought home a lathe for their workshop. Paul graduated from civil engineering but left that profession to do what he loved best, working with wood. He began selling his turnings on the craft show circuit in Ontario and Ohio. In the early 1980s, Paul received a number of awards for his work in artistic bowl turning. He owned a full-time pen-turning business for a few years, has tutored people in turning pens and bowls in his workshop, and has built custom-made furniture. Paul is an employee of Lee Valley.
