He begins with instructions for carving Noah and the lions and constructing the ark, each with practical tips for every step, from carving and assembly to finishing.

Suitable for beginner and intermediate carvers, these first three projects help build the skills required to complete the rest of the set. Detailed patterns follow for creating Noah’s wife, 14 pairs of animals and a whale, each with color photographs and suggestions for paint colors.

The menagerie includes bears, elephants, giraffes, birds and various farm animals. This is an excellent project for taking advantage of scrap wood.
