Make a Steampunk-Style Bound Book


In this workshop, you will create a stunning book with vintage and steampunk-inspired decorative metal and leather elements. Using mixed media, pages and covers, you will put together a decorative book that can serve as a sketchbook, a journal or whatever you imagine. All tools and materials provided.

Instructor Bio

Suzan Lee has been teaching bookbinding in Vancouver and New York since 2003. Trained in the New York City Center for Book Arts, she runs bookbinding workshops at the Britannia Art Gallery, Canadian Bookbinders and Book Artists Guild (CBBAG), and Purple Thistle in Vancouver. She is a co-founder of the BC Lower Mainland chapter of CBBAG and serves with other CBBAG members to grow the local book arts community through annual outreach activities such as Word Vancouver, Wayzgoose and Book Arts Fair.

Registration Requirements

Seating is Limited. Please register early to avoid disappointment. Unless otherwise stated, previous experience is not required to participate in seminars and attendees should be 16 years old or older. Seminar tickets are not available online.

Tools & Materials

All tools and materials will be supplied.

Food & Drink

Beverages are provided at our seminars and a light sandwich lunch is provided at all-day events. Please discuss any special dietary needs with the staff at time of registration. In an effort to reduce waste, we encourage you to bring in your own coffee mug and/or refillable water bottle.

What to Wear

We require that you wear closed shoes (e.g. running shoes) to all seminars.
