Description

With thicker, stiffer frames than the Mk.III-series saws, these fret saws let you apply even greater blade tension, helpful when using thick blades or when making precise cuts in denser hardwoods or in brittle materials that are prone to chipping. Each uses the same innovative blade holder and tension mechanism, which makes changing and tightening blades fast and easy.

The aluminum frame has a lattice-like structure for excellent strength and rigidity with minimal weight. Its durable powder-coat finish offers long-term resistance to scratches and wear. Thumbscrews capture even the smallest blades reliably, while just a quick pull on a cam and lever mechanism instantly applies tension, similar to a bandsaw quick-release.

To rotate the blade, simply release the tension mechanism and turn the blade clamps to the desired position. It rotates a full 360°, with detents at 45° increments for accurate, repeatable blade positioning.

The smallest saw has a 3" throat depth and weighs just 6.5 oz. The mid-size version has a 5" throat depth and weighs 8 oz. The largest model has an 8" throat depth and weighs 9.7 oz. Supplied with a 15 tpi #7 skip-tooth blade, each has a hardwood handle and accepts standard 5 1/8" blades.
