Description

Based on the old workshop "tabling" trick, this marking guide makes fast, precise work of trimming the legs of a chair or table evenly so it doesn't rock.

You start by shimming the short legs so the work sits stably on a saw table or other accurately flat surface. The tool's hardened steel scribing point rotates on an eccentric barrel within the aluminum body, adjusting its height in a range from 0.07" to 0.66". With the point set higher than the tallest shim, you simply run the tool around each leg, marking all four at a consistent offset from the reference surface. Cutting to the line results in four legs that are trimmed uniformly to the correct length and angle so they all sit perfectly flush, making even contact with the floor.

An elegant and reliable solution. Made in Canada.
