How to Make a Skin on Frame Canoe
Friday, July 13, 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
and Saturday, July 14, 9:15 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.

Learn to build a beautiful ultra-light and versatile, skin-on-frame boat out of yellow cedar and ballistic nylon in this skill building session with Brian Chandler. Easily handled by one person, these boats can be sailed, motored or just used for lazing about. While it would be impossible to build an entire canoe in 10 hours, you will work on semi-completed stages of boat building using traditional methods and modern materials. All tools and materials will be provided.
Fee: $100.00

Brian Chandler’s passion has always been to build boats. Originally from the Barbary Coast, Brian is an accomplished aerostructure technician. His hobbies include winemaking and cooking, as well as leatherwork. Brian has been building boats since the mid-1980s, and in 2000, began teaching people how to build them.
