The folding design of these carving knives not only makes them compact to store or slip into a pocket, but also helps protect the keen edges. To cover everything from rough shaping to fine detail cuts, each includes a versatile selection of well-honed spring-steel blades hardened to Rc55, all contained in a comfortable contoured handle. Easy-to-operate lock levers prevent accidental closing in use.
With a black-finished steel handle, the Pocket Jack has a 1-3/8" detail carving knife, a 3/16" #11 straight gouge, a 3/8" scorp and a 1/4" 70° V-scorp. With a steel handle inset with bubinga scales, the Carvin' Jack has the same four blades as the Pocket Jack, and adds a 5/16" straight chisel and a 3/4" #7 sweep knife.
The Pocket Jack is available in a right-handed version only; the Carvin’ Jack is available in right- and left-handed models and includes a leather belt holster, plus a wooden strop (shaped to match the gouge and scorps) and honing compound. At a folded length of 4-1/8" and weighing only 2.8 oz (80g) and 3.4 oz (95g) respectively, these are practical, portable carving tools, well made in USA.
The Left-Hand Carvin' Jack is not stocked at our retail stores, but can be ordered for pick-up at our stores.
