Everyone knows that the secret of precision hand joinery is practice, and that's particularly true of dovetails, as you have to train yourself to make four different "crooked cuts": tilt-left, tilt-right, cant-left, and cant-right. That's four times as much muscle memory to develop as a regular lap joint! No wonder so few people get it right on the first try.

We start with the best Virgin aircraft aluminum – not to be confused with unused aluminum – we actually take it from Virgin Atlantic® aircraft, using material made available by weight-saving aircraft modifications*. Milled from a solid billet, the robust 1.38" diameter handle houses four blades: a striking knife, a 1/2" chisel, a 1/4" chisel, and a precision saw.

The sprung blade lock with brass button fixes the blades firmly in the open or closed position, and provides critical tactile feedback as to handle orientation. For convenient layout, a pair of 1:6 and 1:8 dovetail markers are French fitted into handle recesses, and are secured using rare-earth magnets. This tool has it all.
