Description

This thermometer is perfect for measuring compost and soil temperatures because the glass tube is shielded by a chrome-plated copper case, making it safe to thrust into even rocky soil and clumpy compost. Though compact and rugged, its protective shielding means that it requires longer dwell time for reading than more exposed thermometers. Two minutes is usually enough.

Has both Celsius and Fahrenheit scales, and reads from -10° to +110°C (14° to 230°F). Particularly useful for checking soil temperature before planting (to avoid seed rot), and monitoring compost temperature to see if it needs turning, watering or other treatment.

8 3/4" long.
